Having Problems?
- If you are having problems using the Online > Updates function from within Kurzweil 1000, you can download the latest updates from the software updates section of our website.
- Any Kurzweil 1000 patcher that you download should be run using escalated permissions on Windows Vista/7/8/10. To do this, locate the downloaded patcher on your computer, right-click (Shift+F10) and choose Run As Administrator.
- For IT professionals, if Online > Updates isn't working, then your Windows firewall may be preventing the connection. You can create an Inbound and Outbound rule for the C:\Program Files (x86)\Kurzweil Educational Systems\Kurzweil 1000\Kurzweil 1000.exe to allow connections.
- User Account Control (UAC) may cause problems with installing patches, especially for older versions of Kurzweil 1000. You can follow these instructions to disable UAC.
