4.8. Scanner incompatibility
Issue:
If a scanner does not have a standard Windows TWAIN driver, the scan option directly in Kurzweil 3000 or Kurzweil 1000 will not allow it to function. In these cases, it's best to scan to PDF first and then open the document in Kurzweil, which should be an option in the software that comes with the scanner in question.
Details:
It is typical that a "Mobile" scanner will have this sort of issue, however some mobile scanners do indeed have Twain. The purpose of this document is to identify the ones that specifically do not have TWAIN, as we come across them.
List of known Non-Twain devices:
-Fujitsu ScanSnap
-Xerox Mobile Scanner
The above non-twain devices are incompatible when scanning directly into Kurzweil.
