General Info:
Depending on network security, you may run into authentication, connectivity or usability issues with the following components:
— Kurzweil 3000 installed desktop app for Win or Mac
— Read the Web extension for Chrome/Firefox
— kurzweil3000.com website
— Receiving password reset emails or emails from our support dept.
This may include issues with saving files to the Universal Library from the installed app, the installed app failing to authenticate, or the Read the Web not functioning properly.
Whitelist:
kurzweil3000.com
fireflybykurzweil.com
kurzweiledu.com
*@kurzweiledu.com
If your network security app cannot whitelist URLs, you can consider whitelisting the following IP ranges:
64.9.219.224/27
64.9.222.160/27
50.238.167.160/27
12.130.232.96/28
63.241.194.16/28
63.241.250.128/27
12.233.124.160/27

Kurzweil 3000 uses HTTPS for authentication purposes, TCP Port 443.
Some proxy server configurations use an "HTTPS" middle man encryption. You may also need to make an exception for our services in that.
Read the Web
We've observed an issue with Read the Web on some networks (usually implementing a proxy server where exceptions are not made properly), where if you start reading it will "kick you out" of the extension. As a workaround, if you open up a web browser tab (recommended using IE for Windows) separately and log into kurzweil3000.com with your account and keep that tab active/minimized, in Firefox or Chrome you can use the Read the Web extension without being kicked out.
