Problem:
"Error 1606. Could not access network location \KESI." is received during install of Kurzweil 3000 (K3000) on a Windows computer.
Reason:
The K3000 installer is attempting to install a KESI folder and some files to the public document location on your computer. If the public documents folder was removed or user permissions changed from the Windows default, you may encounter the above problem. This can sometimes happen on domain-managed machines.
Solution:
Login to a Windows account with admin privileges.
Verify that the following folder paths exist on your computer. If the Public\Documents or Public\Public Documents folder does not exist on your computer, please create these folders.
C:\Users\Public\Documents
C:\Users\Public\Public Documents
Edit the Properties of the Public folder, and give the Authenticated Users group Full Control.
Reboot and try the install again.
If the above still does not function, the file transfers may be blocked by your active shield protection software (typically a virus or malware protection active scanner). Try disabling this piece of software and running the install again.
