Applies to Versions: Kurzweil 3000 (Win) - all versions
Note: Most institutional environments require the client computers to have limited user account permissions in order to maintain the security infrastructure of the network. Kurzweil requires 'Write" permissions on specific folders in order for the program to run properly.
Provide "Write" permissions to the following directories/regkeys:
Windows 7 and higher:
- C:\Program Files (x86)\Kurzweil Educational Systems
- %programdata%\KESI
- %appdata%\KESI
- %userprofile%\documents\KESI
- %public%\documents\KESI
Registry:
- HKLM/Software/Wow6432Node/KESI (x64)
- HKLM/Software/KESI (x86)
Windows XP:
- C:\Program Files\Kurzweil Educational Systems
- C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\KESI
- C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Shared Documents\KESI
- C:\Documents and Settings\<Username>\My Documents\KESI
Registry:
- HKLM/SOFTWARE/KESI
Note: These permissions do not apply to the Kurzweil 3000 Network License-to-Go or Remote License-to-Go configuration. For these configurations the user must be a local administrator on the machine.
