Do user accounts created for Kurzweil 3000 Web License Subscription integrate with Active Directory/LDAP/CAS or Shiboleth?
We do not currently have plans to integrate the Kurzweil 3000 Web License rostering system into the above systems, however we are looking into other possibilities to accommodate an easier rostering process.
Username/password credentials to access Kurzweil 3000 Web License are managed through a secure HTTPS web portal. Usernames are generated by the kurzweil3000.com website when an account is created, based on an algorithm that uses the first and last name of the user. For example, a user John Carpenter may receive the username jcarpenter2. Usernames can be manually edited after creation if needed.
If you own a site or district license of Kurzweil 3000 Web License, we offer a free user import service (a.k.a. rostering service). The rostering service would allow you to avoid the manual creation of users within the kurzweil3000.com user management system. However, similar to the manual creation of users, usernames created through the rostering service are automatically generated and cannot be specified. If you own a Kurzweil 3000 Web License Subscription account and are interested in the rostering service, please email Kurzweil3000Roster@kurzweiledu.com for more information.
To describe the normal login process as an end user, the user logs into their device through the use of their machine credentials (Windows/Mac/Domain login). Then the user would launch the Kurzweil 3000 Win/Mac Desktop app, the Kurzweil 3000 iPad app, or a web browser directed to kurzweil3000.com. At that point, a prompt will request the user's Kurzweil 3000 credentials.
