2.24. How To: Make SSO button visible within the Kurzweil 3000 Windows/Mac installed client
Important: Your subscription must first been enabled for use with Single Sign On before the steps below will work. You can find information about our Single Sign On options and requirements here.
After your subscription has been configured with Single Sign On, you can follow the steps below to get the applicable SSO button to appear at your Kurzweil 3000 installed client login screen.
Please follow the below link for your Single Sign On implementation to be taken to specific instructions in this article:
Microsoft OAuth2
Windows Users:
A registry key change must be applied to Windows after the client is installed. This key can be pushed out to organizational machines, or the instructions below can be used to assist individuals with this process.
- Login to your machine as an Administrator account (if this is your personal machine, you likely already have this access)
- Download and install the Kurzweil 3000 client found here: https://www.kurzweiledu.com/installv22_win_wl (if you already have the Kurzweil 3000 Web License client installed, you can skip this step)
- Download the .txt file here
- Change the extension on the downloaded file from .txt to .reg (if you need information on how to change an extension, you can find it in the document here)
- Run the .reg file and apply the registry changes
- You should now see the Microsoft logo appear at the bottom of the Kurzweil 3000 sign in window
Mac Users:
An additional utility must be run after the client is installed on Mac. This utility an be pushed out to organizational machines, or the instructions below can be used to assist individuals with this process.
- Download and install the Kurzweil 3000 client found here: https://www.kurzweiledu.com/installv22_mac_wl (if you already have the Kurzweil 3000 Web License client installed, you can skip this step)
- Download the Microsoft SSO utility found here
- Run 'turnOnSSOMicrosoft' within the downloaded package
- You should now see the Microsoft logo appear at the bottom of the Kurzweil 3000 sign in window
Google OAuth2
Windows Users:

SAML 2.0
Once SAML 2.0 SSO has been implemented for your subscription, you'll be provided a customized installer for both Windows and Mac. These installers need to be run after the Kurzweil 3000 client has been installed.
Windows Users:
- Login to your machine as an Administrator account (if this is your personal machine, you likely already have this access)
- Download and install the Kurzweil 3000 client found here: https://www.kurzweiledu.com/installv22_win_wl (if you already have the Kurzweil 3000 Web License client installed, you can skip this step)
- Run your customized Kurzweil 3000 SAML Windows installer acquired from your implementation staff (they should reach out to us if they no longer have access)
- You should now see your organization's login portal when you launch Kurzweil 3000
Mac Users:
- Download and install the Kurzweil 3000 client found here: https://www.kurzweiledu.com/installv22_mac_wl (if you already have the Kurzweil 3000 Web License client installed, you can skip this step)
