3.9. Error during uninstall of K3000 Network Server Engine
Applies to Versions: Kurzweil 3000 (Win) Network
Issue Summary:
When trying to uninstall the Kurzweil 3000 Network Engine using add/remove programs in the control panel an error occurs, "Uninstallation Canceled, Fatal Error during uninstall". This may happen if the network license keys have not been removed.
Troubleshooting Steps:
If possible, try removing your network license keys back to your keydisk and then try the uninstall again.
If this is not possible, please follow the steps below:
1. End the Kurzweil 3000 Network Engine service. Click Start -> Run command: -> (type in the run box "services.msc" without the quotes -> find the Kurzweil 3000 Server service -> Right click on the service -> Stop
2. Delete the license key file from your server (note this wipes out your licenses so have a new license key ready) Navigate to C:\ProgramData\KESI\Kurzweil 3000 Server and delete the "Server.k3l" file.
3. Attempt again to uninstall the Kurzweil 3000 Network Engine using Add/Remove programs in the control panel
4. Restart after the uninstall
5. Install your new Network Engine from the DVD or use your download to re-install.
