3.8. Error 102 - The license-to-go could not be validated
Applies to Versions: Kurzweil 3000 (Win) Network
Issue Summary:
Using the Kurzweil 3000 Network Administrator to issue a License-to-Go to a limited user account will result in a 102 Error (the license-to-go could not be validated, perhaps because you are a limited user).
Troubleshooting Steps:
The Kurzweil 3000 Network License-to-Go and Remote License-to-Go both require that the client be used by an account with local administrator access. If you receive the above error, you'll need to ensure that the account has local administrator access to the machine.
If the account has local administrator access and is running on Windows Vista or higher, the issue may be related to User Account Control. On the client machine navigate to this location: C:\Program Files(x86)\Kurzweil Educational Systems\Kurzweil 3000. Right click on the kurzweil 3000.exe and select "Run as Administrator". After the Kurzweil client launches (it may ask you to authenticate), try to issue a License-to-Go to the limited client.
Note: Our development team is aware that customers would like to be able to use the License-to-Go and Remote License-to-Go features with limited user accounts. This is currently an issue under investigation.
